| WHAT IS KWIRE ? |
 It would be simpler to inform you of what my initial approach to the idea was. I gave a colleague three sets of sample wire, each identical in diameter. The first one consisted of the commonly used anodised aluminium wire, the second was a batch of commercially prepared copper wire for the Bonsai market and finally the third, untreated copper wire used within the electrical trade. Tests were conducted to obtain the relevant Brunel hardness figures for each of the sample batches in the provided diameters. The next step was to introduce my colleague to a piece of raw material, demonstrate the application and then insist he attempt to wire different sections of the tree with each type of wire. Our assessments about the ease of application and hardness of each wire used was the same, then came my suggestion. |
I will not divulge the response I received, especially as I added another stipulation.
IT MUST ALSO BE DE-SCALED AND CLEAN NOT LIKE THE COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE ONE WE HAVE USED FOR TESTING.
With that I left the building as quickly as possible, not wanting to allow him time or further opportunity to raise any further objections. A period of time elapsed before I re- contacted him to enquire about what progress if any, had been made. A lot of work had been carried out on my behalf and after an initial slow start the product was developing rapidly. A great deal of methodical testing and re-testing of the annealment process had been undertaken during the time period. On the next occasion that we met the project was nearing completion, he had been able to obtain uniformity of hardness and malleability across the entire size range I required, and moreover felt confident enough to certify the product to current standards. Impressed with the outcome I was eager to use the wire and was not disappointed. It was as requested, Malleable with strength, clean and extremely easy to apply. FAKE KWIRE?
There are some
very poor quality Copper Wire products out there. These poor quality wire
products are being sold from countries that are disinterested in good
quality and that some dealers will try and pass off this cheaper
wire as better OR AS GOOD as KWire. That is patently untrue as that
inferior wire, while cheaper, WILL NOT give you the malleability,
coefficient strength and support that Kwire products are designed to do.
Surely its better to pay a little extra and get the best for your Bonsai.

Label on the wire and avoid inferior made fakes. |
